Sign Language Interpreter Review Board Member Application
Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is seeking an applicant to replace a Licensing Review Board Member.
Local Category:- Must be a resident of Nebraska.
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- Must work for a city/county or government agency (cadidate may be hearing, deaf or hard of hearing).
- Experience with the function and use of sign language interpreting services in their agency.
- Must have leadership experience.
The Licensing Board is responsible for establishing the regulations, serves as a board of inquiry and investigates claims of use of unlicensed interpreters by a state agency or law enforcement entity. The Board meets on at least a quarterly basis; the meetings generally are two hours in length with most meetings being held on Friday afternoons. Members are reimbursed for their expenses (mileage, parking, lodging).
