After Hours List for Nebraska

Suggested Procedures for Calling Interpreters After Hours

  1. Identify yourself and your agency.
  2. Ask if the interpreter is available to interpret at the specific time that you need someone. Do not disclose any confidential information until the interpreter has stated that they are available.
  3. If the interpreter is available for that date and time, give the interpreter the confidential information regarding location, deaf client's name, type of setting, etc.

Interpreters are listed according to qualifications and not guaranteed availability. Interpreters are listed from top to bottom under each city according to their qualification level, with the highest level listed first.

As of September 1, 2007 if you are a state agency or law enforcement personnel, you are required to hire an interpreter licensed through the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Courts and probation officials are required to hire interpreters specifically trained for legal interpreting.
